Poster for Shimadzu Mannequin Exhibition
This poster designed by Hara Hiromu advertises a 1935 Mannequin exhibition to be held at a venue nearby Sapporo station. The exhibition was to be hosted by Shimadzu corporation, which at the time manufactured western-style mannequins. It can be assumed that Hara was commissioned by Shimadzu to design this poster. The poster itself contains tategaki text stating the event location and date on the left side, as well as an illustration of a harshly lit life-like mannequin on the right. The mannequin's face almost feels photographed while the scarf it wears is devoid of shading, perhaps to highlight both the method of use and quality of the Shimadzu products.
